Collection of the best of 2009’s worst put to music.  And what would any blooper reel be without an appearance of the Benny Hill theme song.  Thankfully, it only runs for about 20 seconds.  In fact this mix tape may have the highest number of songs of any video I have ever watched.  Either way it is a fun view and reminds us all how absolutely crazy this damn game is anyway.

2009 Blooper Reel (Video)

Do you know your game is tight, but feel there just isn’t enough flossing going on when you put on your present boots?  Maybe you just don’t have enough black diamonds and sapphires.  Chelsea’s John Terry has solved this problem by having Umbro make him a boot worth upwards of $250,000.

The boot has 84 black diamonds, 27 carats of white diamonds and 11 carats of sapphires.  All together they make one of the tackiest, unattractive boots ever assembled by man.  But we have to excuse him in this case, because they are for charity.

The boots will be auctioned off at the VIP launch of Rio Ferdinand’s Live The Dream Foundation this Wednesday in London.

Sticking with the Big Four of England again this week as we take a trip to London to visit Chelsea FC.  The best part about this week’s edition of Vintage 10Shirt?  You can own a brand new version of it thanks to our new 10Shirt.net Soccer Shop.  Just click the link in this post or use the permanent “Shop” link at the top of the page and you can buy your own edition of this shirt.  Either way, this is your chance to get your hands on some new gear!

Today we feature both the Away and Home versions of the 1984/85 Chelsea FC kit.

chelsea86Chelsea86homeGeek Info: I’m sure some of you more astute Chelsea fanatics out there may take issue with the fact I don’t refer to this kit as also being used in the 1983/84 season.  My reasoning is simple.  While the shirt design is identical, the 1983 season was the first year Chelsea ever featured a sponsor (Gulf Air).  They subsequently dropped the sponsor from the kit the following year.  So because this shirt does not feature the sponsor, I am labeling it as the 19845/85 kit.  The replicas shown here are very close to the originals, the biggest change being that the original kits were manufactured by Le Coq Sportif.  Their recognizable rooster logo, which was embroidered over the right breast, has been removed by the replicas manufacturer for obvious reasons.

Who Wore It? John Bumstead, John Hollins, Kerry Dixon, David Speedie, Pat Nevin, Joe MacLaughlin

Captain? Colin Pates

Coach? John Hollins (Player/coach)

Accomplishments: Second Division Champions 1983/84, Sixth place in the First Division 1984/85 (Record: 20-11-11)

The Chelsea training staff are finally starting to feel the pain Chelsea supporters have felt since Ballack signed with the club.  Not exactly Ronaldinho bouncing the ball off the cross bar… but just as entertaining.  Someone get this to Bob Saget on the double!

As both a Chelsea fan and a former mohawked punk myself, I am a huge fan of this new shirt from Bumpy Pitch.

From Bumpy Pitch:

“This shirt is inspired by the soccer and punk scenes of the late 1970’s in London. We collaborated with artist and London native Nick Egan to capture the feel of the time and the influence that soccer and punk music had on an entire generation. Set in the Shed End of Stamford Bridge, the graphic depicts the vibe that was unique to not only the sport and the music scene, but also to the location and a specific moment of time.”

My only question is why is it $40 for a t-shirt?
