WFDlogo
World Football Daily is a daily soccer radio show hosted by Steven Cohen and Kenny Hassan, airing Monday through Friday beginning at 12PM EST. After the popular World Soccer Daily closed doors, the duo re-emerged as a premium service, charging listeners a low monthly fee in place of on-air advertisements. Below is my review of the service and all of the included premium features:

VIDEO

What sets WFD apart from many other shows, in my opinion, is the high quality video streams they offer of each daily show. Videos can be viewed in iTunes, streamed live on Ustream, in the Video Archive:
WFDVArchive
or using the pop-out player
WFDPopOutPlayer
WFD also includes videos shot outside of the studio, featuring interviews with USMNT players at the Home Depot Center and other content. Overall I was very impressed with both the quality and content of the videos.

AUDIO:

WFD offers premium members the option to stream the show audio live, or download as a podcast. WFD also maintains a great audio archive of every show:
WFDAudioArchive
Again, I was impressed with the audio quality as well as the extensive archive of shows, interviews and highlight clips.

COST:
WFD’s Premium service costs $4.99 per month or $39.99 per year. Premium members get access to the features listed above, along with access to the WFD forum and discounts in the store.

RATING: 4.5/5
WFDRating
Overall I was very impressed with both the pricing and quality of the content WFD has to offer. For the price of a couple cups of coffee(or one cup depending on your preferences), or a single video game, you get access to hours of entertaining content, including some great guests(Jozy Altidore, Harry Redknapp, Tim Vickery and more). While the site isn’t very aesthetically appealing(they are planning to role out a new site soon), everything functioned well and was easy enough to navigate.

CONCLUSION:
Take a listen to the preview clips here, if you enjoy the show, it’s a bargain at $4.99/month or $39.99/year. To subscribe or find more information, visit WFDPremium.com

REVIEW: World Football Daily Premium

Author: Trevor Hayward | Filed under: Reviews

One thing that has really always bothered me is that soccer/football clothing manufacturers pretty much suck at making casual wear.  Yes, there are clubs that do it pretty well, but the big brands seem to always let me down.  Maybe it’s because I live in Southern California and most of the stuff I see these guys making just won’t fly on the streets out here.

That’s why I’m stoked to see what Calle is pimping these days on their site.  Finally there is a manufacturer that gets it.  Granted their demographic is always geared toward street soccer, so it makes sense that they do good casual wear.  It strikes me as what Modern Amusement would do if they made a line of soccer clothing.

Their is a reason that Steve Nash chose them to outfit his Showdown in Chinatown event last year.

Here’s a look at what Calle is slinging:

Plus they have a sense of humor, check their recent commercial:

Calle: Casual In The Streets

Author: Jrodius | Filed under: Gear, Reviews

Lets face it there are everyday social circumstances where your favorite team’s game jersey is not all that appropriate attire.  Events like say… first dates.  You don’t want her to know that you’re going to ignore her for hours at a time every weekend from the first moment she sees you, right?  Instead camouflage your obsession for your favorite team by wearing a more casual style from the side you support.

Here are some everyday fashion looks that I’m going to pass along to all of you in hopes you may get some ideas in how not to scare off your next potential lady-friend.

Potential new tag line: “10Shirt- Helping Footy Folks Get Freaky Since 2009″

HullT

I know I am risking blowing my wad early here, but this is seriously the best looking Official T-Shirt out there in the EPL right now.  Trust me I have looked.  Usually “Official” gear is watered down and made for the average 50 year old male that has already been beaten down by his woman life.  But here you have a shirt that would not look at all out of place in Bumpy Pitch’s line.  Give it up for Hull City for getting this right.  Now Phil Brown?  That’s another matter entirely.

arsenal polo

First off, no one has popped a collar since Kanye’s first album and secondly no one has done it right since Zack Morris.  Now this look isn’t exactly my style, I tend to be more of a minimalist, but I know there is a market for it.  How do I know?  Because every time I smell an Abercrombie store from the sidewalk I see dudes wearing stuff just like this coming out of it.  So take what you will from it, but trust me, someone right now is already getting their Barclay card out.

villa-T

I know what you’re thinking, Jrodius, this is not subtle at all like you said I should be around the ladies.  I know what I said.  But sometimes a woman appreciates a bold man.  And it takes one to pull this look off.  If you dare… try it out.  If you strike out, both the girl and the shirt were always out of your league.

There was a time, when you would see a homie in some old school Adidas Gazelles around town and know, that dude was down.  That dude was probably ballin’ every night in a pick up game around town.  They, along with the Sambas, were two of the shoes of choice in the early 90’s.  Well these aren’t your older brother’s kicks.  Check out these updated Gazelles gone Rio.
